Starting pitcher
Maya Milano posted another strong outing on Sunday as she recorded a complete game win for the third time this season. She allowed just two earned runs while striking out five Greyhounds.
Dioni Lincoln went three for five, scored a run and had three RBI to pace the NMHU offense.
Carlee Gonzalez had two hits and scored a pair of runs.
"This weekend showed us that we can compete with any team no matter what lineup is on the field," said head coach Ashley Forshee after Sunday's win. "Our team has strong chemistry on and off the field and they really work for each other during every inning."
The Cowgirls now turn their attention to the upcoming Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) season.
"We feel confident going into the RMAC play in a couple of weeks," said Forshee. "This team is hungrier than ever to make the tournament and this past weekend really validated for them that this year it's within our reach."
The 2024 RMAC campaign kicks off for the Cowgirls on February 17th at UCCS. The conference home opener is scheduled for February 24th when MSU-Denver visits Las Vegas.
