Seminole, Oklahoma - The Cowboys, back in the Sooner state for four game set with Oklahoma Baptist, dropped the opening game of the series 17-5 on Thursday afternoon. The series is being played at Seminole State College due to on-going repairs of the Bisons home stadium.
NMHU struck early as
Chase Stewart hit a two run homer, after
Lubby Marrujo doubled to lead off the game, to give the Cowboys a 2-0 lead in the top of the first.
The Cowboys added a run in the fourth inning as
Tanner Hedrick singled in
Taiga Sato who was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning.
Gael Bernal recorded a pair of RBIs in the sixth inning when he singled in Sato and
Roman Robles.
Jadrian Martinez got the start and took the loss for the Cowboys.
The Cowboys and Bison will play a doubleheader on Friday afternoon in Seminole. First pitch of game one is set for 12:00 pm (MT).
