Las Vegas, New Mexico - The Cowboys dropped a 92-85 decision to visiting Adams State on Friday night. The Cowboys are now 8-13 overall and 5-11 in the RMAC. The Grizzlies improve to 7-14 overall and 5-10 in conference action.
Three Cowboys were in double figures led by
Kenard Richardson who scored 20 points.
Nathan Hasberry added 14 points while
Ezichi Kalu scored 10. Robinson and Kalu had a team high six rebounds apiece.
NMHU trailed Adams State early in the contest as the Grizzlies led by as many as five points in the early going. The Cowboys took a 30-28 lead on a jumper from
Ezichi Kalu at the 5:44 mark of the opening half. They pushed that lead to 42-35 at the half-time break.
The Cowboys held the lead out of the break until Adams State jumped ahead 50-49 five and half minutes into the second half. The two teams exchanged the lead over the next six minutes until the Grizzlies took the lead for good with 9:07 remaining in the game.
NMHU shot 42.1% from the floor and drained nine three pointers in the game. They also out rebounded the Grizzlies 43-27.
The Cowboys are back at it next weekend traveling to Chadron State and Colorado Christian.
