Las Vegas, New Mexico - The Cowboys split Friday's double header with the Colorado School of Mines dropping the opener 4-12 and bouncing back to take the nightcap 3-2.
In Friday's first game the Cowboys jumped to a 1-0 lead in their half of the fourth when
Tucker Simpson scored on a wild pitch. The visiting Orediggers would tie the game in the fifth inning and push across three runs in the seventh to secure the 4-1 win.
Andrew Baltazar went the distance for the Cowboys allowing just two earned runs and striking out three batters.
Game two saw both teams score single runs in the third and sixth innings. With the score tied 2-2 in the bottom of the seventh,
Tanner Hedrick scored on an Oredigger error to seal the 3-2 win for the Cowboys.
Andrew Rodriguez got the start and went six strong innings allowing just two earned runs and striking out five batters.
Sebastian Crispin pitched a scoreless seventh inning to earn the win in relief.
The Cowboys are now 7-22 overall and 3-8 in RMAC play.
The series finale is Saturday at 12:00 pm.
