Las Vegas, New Mexico - The Cowboys scored two runs in the first inning and two runs in the ninth inning, in between visiting Colorado School of Mines scored 14 runs to take a 14-4 win in the series finale Saturday afternoon.
In the bottom half of the first inning
Taiga Sato got NMHU on the scoreboard first as he logged his team leading 26th RBI to score
Gael Bernal. The very next batter,
Nathan Corugedo, lifted a sacrifice fly to right field that scored
Carlos Chavez and the Cowboys were up 2-0.
In the ninth inning
Tanner Hedrick reached on a two out error that scored Corugedo and
Jadrian Martinez.
The Cowboys are now 7-23 overall and 3-9 in the RMAC.
Up next, the Cowboys head to Colorado to face MSU-Denver next weekend.
