Las Vegas, New Mexico - The Cowgirls dropped go 1-1 in their double header against the visiting Thunderwolves of Colorado State University-Pueblo in the first two games of the 4 game series.
Game 1: The Thunderwolves jumped out to an early 1-0 lead and added on to the lead in the third inning scoring two off of a Cowgirls error. The Cowgirl then answered with a 4 run inning including a Karla Banegas triple followed by a Arianna Ramirez two run blast. The Thunderwolves however would not go away as they scored 4 more runs in the 5th inning on their way to a victory with a final score of 9-7.
Game 2: The second game of the day started out very similar to the first with the Thunderwolves striking early in the first inning and adding on to make it 4-0 game as the game headed into the bottom of the 5th. When the Cowgirls put together a huge 5 run inning started off by a Lexi Apodaca double. Then in the 6th Apodaca added a solo shot which would result in a 6-4 Cowgirls victory.
The Cowgirls are back in action tomorrow for another double header against Colorado State University of Pueblo game one first pitch scheduled for 11 AM MST.
