Odessa, Texas - The Cowgirls opened up their second weekend in the Lone Star State with a match against the Lobos of Sul Ross State and collect their first win under Head Coach Meg Grose.Â
Set 1: The match started in the first set with an ace from Junior Abby Carlsen. The Cowgirls got ahead early and stayed ahead and never looked back.
Set 2: The Lobos wasted no time in the second set jumping out to an early lead they would win the set 25-14.
Set 3: The set was back and forth between the two teams but the Cowgirls would fight for 29-27 to win the third set to take a 2-1 lead and be one set away from a match win.Â
Set 4: Led by Angelina Burton with a career high in 15 kills in total the Cowgirls pulled away for the 25-20 victory and match win.
The win goes down as the first win for Cowgirl Volleyball in the Meg Grose era.Â
The Cowgirls will be in action on Saturday September 14 at 11 AM (MT)/Noon (CT) against Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Followed by a match against the host Falcons of University of Texas-Permain Basin.Â
