Pueblo, Colorado - CSU-Pueblo used a second half surge to down the Cowboys 69-63 on Saturday afternoon. The loss dropped NMHU to 8-10 overall and 1-9 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
After leading 32-28 at the half-time break, the Cowboys led 44-43 at the 10:55 mark of the second half before the host ThunderWolves outscored them 29-19 down the stretch.
Kenard Richardson had a game-high 25 points and nine rebounds to pace the Cowboys. Richardson has been in double-figures in 14 of 18 games for NMHU this season.
Freshman
KJ LaMonte was also in double figures with 15 points.
LaMonte and
Ja'Kwon Hill each had four assists. NMHU shot 38.9% from the floor and 69.6% from the free throw line.
CSU-Pueblo held a slight edge in rebounding at 41-37. T
he Cowboys are in Denver next week playing at MSU-Denver on Thursday evening and Regis on Saturday afternoon.
