Las Vegas, New Mexico - Cowgirls will face the Fort Lewis College Skyhawks Saturday (7 PM).
POD GAMES:
This week's match-ups for Cowgirls volleyball against Adams State (Tuesday, September 30) and Fort Lewis are a "Pod Game". These games will be played against teams in the RMAC, but will not count towards any of the teams' conference records.
Senior Setter
Abby Carlsen on her feelings about the pod play matches: "I believe every game should count within our pods. I think it's a great idea to play other teams at opponents' gyms to save time on travel. It's very convenient and we can miss less school and rest our bodies better."
Cowgirls:
New Mexico Highlands comes to this weekend's game at 4-9 (0-4 RMAC), following Tuesday's loss at Adams State.
LAST TIME OUT:
The Cowgirls return home after a loss to the Grizzlies of Adams State on Tuesday. Freshman
Marissa Sandoval-Moya had a career high of 22 assists, while
Arianna Jamerson led the team with 17 kills in the loss on Tuesday.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS:
Fort Lewis comes in at 9-2 overall and 4-0 in RMAC play. This is the second of three meetings between the Cowgirls and Skyhawks volleyball teams this season. The Skyhawks captured a victory in Silver City earlier this season in four sets..
"We competed hard Tuesday and cleaned up a few things this week at practice, and we are excited to compete on Saturday night at home in front of our awesome home crowd." Said Coach
Meg Grose about getting to come home for this pod play match.
