Las Vegas, New Mexico -The Cowboys' season-high three-game winning streak came to an end Saturday afternoon as NMHU fell 83-70 to Colorado Christian in a non-conference match up. The loss moves the Cowboys to 4-10 on the season, while the Cougars improve to 4-7.
NMHU came out the gate strong, building a ten point advantage just three and a half minutes into the contest. Colorado Christian chipped away at the lead and moved in front 14–13 at the 14:55 mark of the first half. The Cougars held a slim 37–35 edge at halftime and outscored the Cowboys 43-28 in the second half to pull away for the win.
Three Cowboys scored in double figures, led by
Ramiah Adedigba's 15 points.
Nikk Williams posted his third double-double of the season with 10 points and a game-high 10 rebounds, while
Caileb Parham finished with 10 points.
NMHU had five blocked shots, its second-best total of the season.
Colorado Christian will host the Cowboys in Lakewood on February 26th in a game that will count toward the RMAC standings.
The Cowboys will take a break for the holidays before returning to action on January 3rd, traveling up I-25 to face CSU Pueblo in their final non-conference game of the season.
