Cowgirls Get Win In Overtime

The Other Las Vegas-The Cowgirls played their second game of the Great Western Shootout today. As they played the host Western Washington Vikings.

1st half Western Washington (WWU) 31 - NMHU 23

The first quarter was all primarily the Cowgirls as they took a 18-13 lead headed into the second quarter.

 However the Vikings would outscore the Cowgirls 18-5 in the second quarter to take the lead would have the lead 31-23.

Second Half WWU  39 - 61 - NMHU 41-61
 The second the Cowgirls took over outscoring the Vikings 38-30 to tie it up sending the game to overtime.

Kapiolani Anitielu lead the way for the Cowgirls with 22 points .

OT WWU 68 - NMHU 71
The Cowgirls defense would step up in overtime providing just enough defense for the Cowgirls to get the win to close out their time in the Other Las Vegas.

COACH FEARING FOLLOWING THE WIN:
"What a great team win! So proud of them to handle and go through adversity the last three weeks. Great statement win going into Christmas break and finish out the year with a win!"

NEXT UP:
The Cowgirls will not be back in action until 2026 as they play Colorado Mesa in Historic Las Vegas on January 8th.
