Las Vegas, New Mexico - Colorado Mesa edged the Cowboys 78-72 on Saturday afternoon at the Wilson Complex. NMHU is now 10-14 overall and 3-13 in conference play.
Nathan Hasberry led the Cowboys with 28 points and a game high five assists.
Ja'Kwon Hill and
KJ LaMonte also scored in double figures with 17 and 16 points respectively.
Blessin Kimble grabbed a team high nine rebounds.
The Cowboys led by 14 points in the first half before Colorado Mesa discord the finals 18 points of the half to take a 31-27 to the locker room.
Colorado Mesa then built an 11 point lead with 3:37 left in the game before NMHU ran off eight unanswered points to draw within three. That is as close as the Cowboys would get as the Mavericks closed out the game on a 10-7 run.
The Cowboys welcome Colorado Christian and UCCS to historic Las Vegas for the final home games of the season.
