Las Vegas, New Mexico - A late rally by the Cowboys fell short as they dropped a 67-61 decision to Colorado Christian on Thursday night. The loss dropped NMHU to 10-15 overall and 3-14 in conference play.
The visiting Cougars jumped out to a 33-20 lead after the first twenty minutes of play. That lead was extended to 15 points in six minutes into the second half. The Cowboys battled back to tie the game at 59-59 when
Blessin Kimble converted a layup with 1:26 to go in the game. Colorado Christian, however, scored eight of the final ten points in the game to escape with the win.
Nathan Hasberry led all scorers with 15 points in the game.
Blessin Kimble had 14 points and
Kyrie Thomas added 11 points.
Kimble was the Cowboy's leading rebounder with six.
The Cowboys play their final home game of the year on Saturday at 3:00 pm when UCCS visits historic Las Vegas.
Kyrie Thomas and
Kenard Richardson will be honored prior to the game as part of the Senior Day presented by Quality Care activities.
