Cowboys Outgun UCCS 96-92 On Saturday

Las Vegas, New Mexico - Six Cowboys scored in double-figures as NMHU raced past UCCS 96-92 on Saturday afternoon. The Cowboys improve to 11-15 overall and 4-14 in conference play with the victory.

UCCS seemed to be in control of things early in Saturday's contest leading by as many as ten points in the first half. The Cowboys took their first lead of the afternoon late in the half on a pair of free throws from Kyrie Irving. A subsequent three by Irving and a pair of Kenard Richardson free throws gave the Cowboys a 44-39 lead at the halftime intermission.

The Cowboys led for all but forty four seconds of the high scoring second half en route to their seventh win of the season at the Wilson Complex.

Blessin Kimble led the Cowboys with 24 points and Delon McCloud scored a career high 20 points. Also in double figures were Kenard Richardson (14 points), Kyrie Thomas (13 points), Nathan Hasberry (11 points), and KJ LaMonte (10 points).

Kimble and Richardson grabbed a team high seven rebounds.

The Cowboys held a 32-29 edge on the boards.

Prior to the game Kyrie Thomas and Kenard Richardson were honored as part of the Senior Day presented by Quality Care festivities.

The Cowboys are in South Dakota for games with South Dakota Mines on Thursday and Black Hills State on Saturday to close out the 2024-25 campaign.
