Cowgirls Go 2-0 on Weekend

Las Vegas, NM-The Cowgirls took on CSU-Pueblo

1st Half: CSU-P 28- NMHU 29

The Scoring opened up all cowgirls as they began to do most of their damage in the paint using the post work as they have throughout the second half of the season. The defense picked up in the second part of the first quarter.

Pueblo came out in the second quarter with the hot hand, shooting 4-4 coming out of the break of the first and second quarters, and then both teams began to catch fire, and this game quickly turned into a shootout.

2nd Half: CSU-P 46-56- NMHU 50-65

After a bit of standstill coming out of the half, the Cowgirls' offense was in the groove, shooting all over the field and forcing a Thunderwolves timeout. Both defenses then flipped a switch, and it was a lockdown by both squads after that. 

Shots falling were hard to come by in the second half for both teams as the defenses showed out in the fourth, but the Cowgirls were getting points in the paint by both the post players and guards as the Cowgirls emerged victorious.

Coach Fearing had this to say following the win: 

"What big time TEAM wins for us at home! Our home crowd is unlike anyone else in the RMAC. TheNEWHighlands is making its way. Excited to be home next weekend again, huge advantage for us!! Love this team!!!"
