Cowgirls Capture Two Conference Wins

Las Vegas, New Mexico- The Cowgirls played their first home games of the season against Chadron State today.

Game 1:Chadron State (CSC) 1  - NMHU 3
The Cowgirls' bats got it going in the first inning with a few hits and came around to score on a throwing error to make the score 1-0 until the third inning when Chadron State got their first run on an error to make it 1-1. The Cowgirls were threatening to score after a pick off moved the runner to third, then a sac fly to the center fielder by Andrea DeLaTrinidad scored the runner to make it 2-1 Cowgirls in the 4th. Then, an RBI single, Yasmin Villa scores a run to extend the Cowgirls' lead. The Cowgirls would win by that final score.

 Game 2: CSC 5 - NMHU 7

The Cowgirls struck first in the first inning on an RBI single by Shaylene Saladin to draw first blood in game two of the series and of the game. Then, with bases loaded for the cowgirls Saladin drives in her second rbi of the game to make it 2-0 in the third. The Cowgirls extended their lead 4-0 on a Jolissa Valdez two-RBI single. Chadron State got back into the game with a five-run inning in the 6th to make it a two-run ball game.
