Cowgirls Vault Into National Top 10 With RMAC Performance

Full USTFCCCA Rankings

New Orleans, Louisiana  - Following an outstanding weekend at the RMAC Championships, the New Mexico Highlands Women's Track and Field program has made the most significant move of any team in the country. The Cowgirls jumped 15 spots in the latest USTFCCCA national rankings, officially breaking into the Top 10 among all NCAA Division II programs.
The 15-place leap is a direct result of several elite performances that have reshaped the national leader board.

Campbell Leads the National Charge

A major catalyst for the rankings surge was the performance of Rojrika Campbell. With her dominant showing in the horizontal jumps, Campbell has solidified her status as a dual-threat national contender. Her marks at the conference meet moved her into the Top 10 nationally in the long jump and a Top 5 position in the triple jump, virtually guaranteeing her a spot at the upcoming NCAA Championships.

Podium Finishes and Personal Bests

The Cowgirls' ascent was fueled by depth and career-best performances across the board:

Kayci-Jo Davis provided a massive boost to the team's standing by clocking a significant personal best in the 200m. Her runner-up finish in the RMAC was one of the weekend's most impactful surprises.

Amoya Jameison added to the momentum with a personal best in the 400m, while also anchoring a season-best performance from the 4x400m relay squad.

Lucia Burba showcased her improvement strength in the multi-events, bettering the NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the heptathlon to add vital points to the Cowgirls' national profile.

Looking Ahead

With the program now sitting in the Top 10, the focus shifts to the final weeks of the season. The Cowgirls currently have athletes solidly qualified for the national stage in six different events, including the 100m, 200m, 100H, long jump, triple jump, and the 4x100m relay.

The participant field for the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be announced at 4:00 pm (New Mexico time) on May 12th. The team will look to carry this momentum into the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships, hosted by Emporia State in Kansas from May 20–23.
