Portales, NM- The battle of New Mexico women's soccer at the Division II level between New Mexico Highlands and Eastern New Mexico ends in an old western draw.
 
A total of 16 shots were taken by the two squads, and none of them found the back of the net.
 
Haylee Driscoll was in goal for the Cowgirls, and she recorded seven saves on the day for the Cowgirls in the full 90 minutes played.
 
Coach Amanda Evans emptied the bench using every player she had at her disposal as a multitude of Cowgirls saw significant minutes in the season opener.
 
This is the first time these two programs have tied since they began playing in 2009.
