Cowgirls Host Meadow City Classic

Las Vegas, New Mexico – The Cowgirls are hosting the Meadow City Classic Presented by The Trujillo Agency this weekend in Historic Las Vegas.
 
Year Three: This weekend marks the third season for the Cowgirls under the direction of head coach Meg Grose as the Cowgirls have made significant strides since she has taken the helm.
 
Last Season: The Cowgirls finished 12-16 last season and 4-10 9n conference play while also having a home winning record on the Purple Floor of the Wilson Center.
 
 In her second season leading the program, Grose guided the Cowgirls to a big turnaround in the 2025 campaign, recording the program's most wins since 2013 and securing its first home record above .500 in more than 20 years.

Under her direction, New Mexico Highlands has produced back-to-back all-conference selections.

 
RMAC Poll: The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) released the 2026 Volleyball Preseason Coaches' Poll. New Mexico Highlands received 52 points, good for a 12th place finish, in the voting by the conference's 15 coaches.

 
2026 Roster: The New Mexico Highlands roster features nine new Cowgirls to Historic Las Vegas. Companied by returners such as Aziza Morris, Elise Fourt, Becca Wiersema, Marissa Sandoval-Moya and Naya Dornic.

The Meadow City Classic Presented by The Trujillo Agency:
This is the first annual Meadow City Classic presented by the Trujillo Agency this will be the first time a tournament will be hosted in Las Vegas in over a decade, and it is sure to be a good weekend for the town of Historic Las Vegas.

Scouting The Opposition:
 
Eastern New Mexico:
The first team coming into Historic Las Vegas is the Greyhound of Eastern New Mexico. Karli Bustos leads the Greyhounds program into her second season prior to becoming the Greyhounds head coach she spent five seasons as the head coach at Trinidad State Junior college in Trinidad, Colorado. Also, a familiar face to Las Vegas as she also spent four seasons as the Assistant Coach for the Cowgirls. Last Season Bustos went 1-1 against the Cowgirls.
 
Western New Mexico:
The Mustangs are making a trip to the Purple Court in Las Vegas to battle the Cowgirls. In his fourth season Geno Frugoli leads the Mustangs program his record against the Meg Grose led Cowgirls is 0-4. The Mustangs spent the opening weekend in Bismarck, North Dakota and went 1-3 on the weekend.
 
Southeastern Oklahoma State:
Nicole Solum-Mitchell is entering her 8^th season as the head coach of the Storm. The Storm compete in the Great American Conference. The record between the two teams is 3-2 all time with the last matchup coming in 2024 where the Storm emerged victoriously.
 
Northwestern Oklahoma State:
Also hailing from the Great American Conference are the Rangers of Northwestern Oklahoma State. Jon Bimgesser enters his sixth season at the helm of the program. Last season the Cowgirls and the Rangers went five full sets against the Cowgirls and ended up on the loosing side of that coin. The all-time series leads to the Cowgirls between these two programs at 2-1 following last year's matchup.
