The NMHU Cowboys capitalized on a huge first inning performance to ride past the Greyhounds of Eastern New Mexico University 9-6 on 4/6. The Cowboys would score early and often in the beginning of the game to secure their fifteenth win of the season. With the win the Cowboys are now 15-13 on the season.
The Cowboys finished the game with an outstanding .471 team batting average on the day. The Cowboys would hit three doubles and one homerun on the day.
Jarod Robinette,
Eric Maupin and
Erik Scott led the way for the Cowboys offensively. Robinette finished the day going 4-5 with two runs scored, three RBI's and one homerun. Maupin finished 3-4 with two RBI's and one double. Scott rounded out the top three going 3-5 with two runs scored and one double.
Cruz Sedillo (2-0) got the start and the win for the Cowboys on the mound. Sedillo allowed four runs on eight hits and struck out one batter in three and one-third inningS pitched.
Richard Sandoval would come in for relief of Sedillo and allow no runs and no hits while striking out three batters in one and two-third innings pitched.
Chris Waha allowed no hits and no runs in one inning pitched.
Antonio Huez Robles would then come in and allow one run off of two hits in one inning pitched.
Kyle Sayers would then come in and allow no runs and no hits while striking out two batters in one inning pitched.
Jared Bowser would come in and close out the game for the Cowboys. Bowser allowed one run off of one hit in one inning pitched.
The Cowboys will be in action again on 4/8 when they begin their four game RMAC series with Metro State College. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
