The NMHU Baseball team has qualified for the NCAA DII Baseball Tournament and will be heading for the NCAA Central Regional Tournament in Mankato, Minn. The Mavericks of Minnesota State have received the top seed for the regional tournament and will serve as the tournament host. This is the fifth time that the Pokes have qualified for the NCAA Tournament while under Head Coach
Steve Jones. The Cowboys have qualified for the post season tourney three of the past four seasons; qualifying in 2009, hosted the tournament in 2010 and now the 2012 season. The Cowboys have received a four seed in the NCAA Central Regional and will take on the third seeded Mavericks of Colorado Mesa University in their opening round game. The Cowboys are 3-2 against the Mavericks in 2012; most recently the Pokes eliminated CMU from the RMAC Tournament on 5/11 by a final score of 7-5.
