Box Score Las Vegas, N.M. – The NMHU Cowboy Baseball team lost to the Roadrunners of Metropolitan State University of Denver, on Mar. 15, by the final score of 6-2. The loss ends the Cowboys' 10-game winning streak and gives them their first loss in conference play this season. The Cowboys are now 8-1 in the RMAC and 12-6 in overall play.

Greg Hansen was working a no-hitter until the Roadrunners picked up two hits in the top of the fourth inning. MSUD was able to score one run in the inning and took the early 1-0 lead.
The Cowboys tied the game up in the bottom of the fourth inning when
Kyle Herrington hit an RBI double down the right-field line.
Jarod Jamerson crossed home plate in the bottom of the fifth inning on a fielder's choice, giving the Cowboys a 2-1 lead.
The Roadrunners took back the lead (3-2) in the top of the sixth inning with two runs on two hits.
Both teams struggled on offense for the next few innings until MSUD struck again in the top of the ninth inning. The Roadrunners picked up three runs on three hits and one Cowboys' error.
The Cowboys were unable to generate any offense in the bottom of the ninth inning and went three up and three down, handing MSUD the 6-2 victory.
Greg Hansen (3-2) was credited with the loss against the Roadrunners. Hansen threw eight and two-thirds innings from the mound for the Cowboys. He allowed six runs (four earned) on seven hits and struck out five batters.
Kyle Herrington was the Cowboys' offensive leader against MSUD. He went 2-4 at the plate with one RBI.
