ENMU 6 – NMHU 4
The Greyhounds started the scoring in the bottom of the first inning with two runs on three hits.

After a slow start, the Cowboys' bats came to life in the top of the third inning.  They picked up three runs on five hits, with RBIs from Jordan Falcon, Josh McMahon, and Matt Gualco, and took a 3-2 lead into the bottom of the third.

In the bottom of the third inning, the Greyhounds took back the lead (4-3) with a two-RBI single.

Neither team scored for the next few innings until the Greyhounds picked up another run in the bottom of the sixth inning, extending their lead 5-3.

ENMU scored another run in the bottom of the seventh inning and their lead increased 6-3.

The Cowboys were able to pick up one more run in the top of the ninth inning (6-4).  But despite having the winning run at the plate the Cowboys were unable to score again and the game ended with ENMU taking a 6-4 victory.

Michael Garcia (2-1) was credited with his first loss of the season against the Mustangs.  Garcia pitched well against the Greyhounds, throwing four innings from the mound.  He allowed three runs on five hits.

The Cowboys will return to conference action Mar. 22-24, when they travel to Grand Junction, Colo. to take on the Mavericks of Colorado Mesa University in a four-game road series.  The series matches the first place teams in the Mountain Division (Colorado Mesa) and the Plains Division (NMHU) in a battle for the top spot in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.  The Mavericks are 9-1 in the conference and 15-5 in overall play.  If you can't make the trip up to Grand Junction to catch your Cowboys in action, you can click HERE to follow the games on Live Stats.  If you would like to watch the action live on the internet, you can click HERE to view the games on the AmericaOne Network.
