#7 Kyle Davis
Box Score Grand Junction, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa University Mavericks knocked the Cowboys out of the 2013 RMAC Baseball Championships with an 11-2 victory on their home field on Saturday, May 11.  The NCAA DII second ranked Mavericks jumped out in front early and never let off.  The Cowboys, lead by Head Coach Steve Jones, finish the 2013 season with a 29-24 overall record.

CMU 11 – NMHU 2
The Mavericks' starting pitcher K. Davis (8-0) set the tone in the game early on.  Davis struck out two Cowboys in the top of the first inning and the Maverick offense cued off of his lead, scoring three runs in the bottom half of the inning.

The Mavericks would score at least one run in the first five innings and Davis held the Cowboy bats in check, as CMU jumped out to a 10-0 lead.  The Cowboys' Kyle Davis ended the scoring drought in the top of the seventh inning, with a two-run home run to right field.

The Mavericks picked up one more run in the bottom half of the seventh to extend their lead 11-2.  Neither team would score again.  The Mavericks advanced to the RMAC Baseball Championship game.

The Cowboys played well in 2013.  They finished the regular season with a 28-22 record and made it to the third round of the RMAC tournament.
