LAS VEGAS, N.M. – The New Mexico Highlands baseball team (22-15, 19-8 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) looks to extend its eight-game winning streak when it welcomes to Las Vegas, N.M., Adams State (12-26, 10-17 RMAC).
The Cowboys sit 3.5 games up (three in the loss column) over CSU-Pueblo, who sits second in the Plains Division. Adams State sits third and looking for wins, sitting in sixth place overall in the RMAC and 4.5 games behind the RMAC-potential fourth seed Colorado Mines.

here. Baseball Teams up with Softball to Save Second Base On Friday, the softball team will play in its annual pink game. The baseball team will also team up with the Cowgirls. Fans attending either softball or baseball are encouraged to give a donation, which will be given in the fight to eradicate cancer, for admission into the games.
There is also "Save Second Base" T-Shirts available in the softball offices, room 232 at the Wilson Complex. There are a multitude of sizes but are on a first come, first serve basis.
During both baseball and softball on Friday, cancer facts will be read between innings.

here. Four Cowboys Honored by the RMAC Announced by the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference offices on Tuesday (April 15), three New Mexico Highlands baseball players were named Academic-All Conference while senior
Greg Hansen was named the RMAC Pitcher of the Week for his performance on the mound last weekend against Colorado Christian. He is the second pitcher from Highlands to be so honored in 2014.
New Mexico Highlands had a pair named First Team Academic All-conference in redshirt junior
Matthew Chavez and senior
Tyler Hayes. Chavez currently holds a 3.79 GPA in human performance and sport.
Senior
Jonathan Stavinoha was named to the RMAC Academic Honor Roll. Holding a 3.60 GPA in human performance and sport, Stavinoha has a .408 batting average with 20 hits, two doubles and a triple.

here. Scouting Adams State The Grizzlies like to tear the cover off the ball as they are fourth in the conference and 49th in the nation with a .305 batting average. In contrast, Adams State is near the bottom in the nation by giving up 7.97 runs a game. If either team finds a gap, it could be a long weekend as Highlands is third while Adams State is eighth in triples this season (19 and 16, respectively).
Chris Morley leads the team with a .360 batting average while Jerrid Huggins hits .339. Among the starters, six Grizzlies hit above .300.
No pitcher who has thrown more than 10 innings this year has an ERA below 6.17. Andrew MacMahon leads the teams with a 6.21 ERA, having 10 starts.
The Cowboys took 2-of-3 at Adams State earlier this year, the only RMAC game that has been cancelled for Highlands this season.
