Box Score Colorado Springs, Colo.- Your New Mexico Highlands University Woman's soccer team (7-11-1) took on University of Colorado Springs Colorado (11-6-2) for the first game of the RMAC Championships. Unfortunately the Cowgirls fell to the Mountain Lions 2-0, ending the Cowgirls season.
Mallory Bostic had the first of the game, and after that the Cowgirls got 7 shots; unfortunately none of them saw the back of the net. UCCS had 9 shots in this half, the Cowgirls kept a strong defense, but Dana Shellhorn scored goal with on a pass from Michaela Mansfield. Apolonia Thomas had 4 saves in the first half.
The Cowgirls started the second half strong with two shots right off the bat. The girls kept a valiant effort and had 8 more shots, but none found their way past the UCCS keeper. The girls continued their strong defense and did their best to keep the ball in their possession, and away from the goal. But even through their efforts Bailee Jameson made scored a goal with an assist from Taylor Braden. This was the final goal ending the game 2-0.
The Cowgirls end their season at 7-11-1.
