Volleyball Snaps 4 game losing streak

Denver, Colo.-  The Cowgirl volleyball team made a pit stop in Denver on their way home from South Dakota. Looking to bounce back, the Cowgirls took on Johnson and Wales in a non-conference match.

After some back and forth trading of points, the Cowgirls led 19-13 before the Wildcats went on a 4 point rally to cut their deficient down to 2. The Cowgirls then went on a 6-2 run to take the first set, 25-21.

Once again the 'Cats and Cowgirls traded points until the Cowgirls took the 11-10 lead. The 'Cats then went on 5-0 run to take the lead at 16-11. The Cowgirls couldn't regain the lead as the 'Cats went on to take the second set 25-21.
The Cowgirls unleashed their energy in the third. With the lead, 10-7, the Cowgirls showed what they can do as a team as they finished the third set winning the next 15 of 25 points.

With the smell of victory to break the 4 match losing streak looming, the Cowgirls their heads down and went to work the fourth set. With the 'Cats up 11-8 the Cowgirls found a burst of energy to go on a 7-1 run to take the lead at 15-12. The 'Cats would then rally and tie the game at 18. The teams traded back and forth until the 23-23 point. After a timeout by the 'Cats, your Cowgirls claimed the last two points of the match to snap the 4 game losing streak!

The Cowgirls will return to action on Friday at the Wilson Complex against conference foe Colorado Mesa at 7 p.m. Live stats and video will be available.
