Box Score CANYON, Texas- The Cowboy baseball team's day started off solid but the 'Buffs would score at least one run in the last six innings to defeat the Cowboys 11-1.

The Cowboys started of strong in the first two innings facing only seven batters. The bottom of the third would be the start of trouble for the Cowboys. A leadoff walk to Shiflett on six pitches would start the 'Buffs. Baiada then stood in the box, put the sacrifice bunt down but the Cowboy's first baseman would allow him to reach base safety and Shiflett would move to third. On a pass ball Baiada would advance to second to give the the 'Buffs two runners in scoring position. Cole filed out to center field and Shiflett tagged from third to make it a 1-0 game. The next batter would double down the left field line to score Baiada from second and give the 'Buffs the 2-0 lead after three innings.

The 'Buffs would attack again in the bottom of the fourth. With runners on first and second Shiflett would go yard to to left field to make it a 5-0 game.

The 'Buffs weren't done as in the bottom on the fifth Day took a shot to left for a two run homerun that put the 'Buffs up 7-0. In the bottom of the sixth Shiflett would do yard again to left field to make it 8-0.

The Cowboy's lone run would come in the top of the seventh when a ground out to the pitcher by Sielinski would score Caporal from third. The 'Buffs would get that run back in the bottom of the inning though. A ground out by Hansen to the shortstop allowed Loya to score from third, after seven innings the 'Buffs led 9-1.

The 'Buffs would score their last two runs in the bottoms of the eight. A single by Brown and a passed ball allowed those runs to come in.
