PITTSBURG, Kan.- The Cowgirl track and field team continued their weekend at the National Indoor Championship. The second day proved to be better as Slack took home two National Championships!

PentathlonSalcia Slack and
Destiny Dilworth started the day off competing in the pentathlon. Slack took first place with 4,172 points, just 21 points off the NCAA record. Dilworth took 13
th with 3,637 points.

60m HurdlesSlack finished fourth with a time of 8.78 seconds for 956 points
Dilworth finished 10
th with a time of 8.92 seconds for 927 points

High JumpSlack finished seventh clearing a height of 1.64 meters (5'4.5") for 784 points
Dilworth finished in 14
th place clearing a height of 1.58 meters (5'2.25") for 712 points

Shot PutSlack took first in the shot put throwing a distance of 13.16 meters (43'2.25") for 738 points
Dilworth took ninth with a throw of 10.81 meters (35'5.75") for 583 points

Long JumpFirst place was taken by Slack with a jump of 5.88 meters (19'3.5") for 813 points
Dilworth took fifth with a jump of 5.59 meters (18'4.25") for 726 points

800m RunSlack took the 800m run with a time of 2:15.73, just 0:00.22 for 882 points. Her time beat her previous 800m time of 2:16.52
Dilworth finished 14
th with a time of 2:30 for 689 points.

Triple JumpSlack was the only Cowgirl to compete in the triple jump. Slack took home first with a jump of 12.88 meters (42'3.25"). The second place finisher was 0.83 meters behind Slack.

Congratulations to Slack on her two National Championships! The Cowgirls finished eighth as a team with 23 points. Lincoln (Mo.) took home first with 60 points.
