Box Score LAS VEGAS, N.M.- The Cowboys and the #2 Mavericks opened up their Easter weekend on Thursday afternoon with a nine inning game. The Cowboys fell by a score of 6-1.

After a leadoff walk in the first inning for the Mavericks, pitcher
Joel Lamont retired the next three batters including two strikeouts. The Mavericks were on the board in the second inning. With a runner on first Zach McLeod hit a shot to left field where the Cowboy fielder was not able to come up with the ball and allowed Greg Reynolds to score. In the top of the fourth the Mavericks struck again with sacrifice fly by McLeod where James Young III touched the plate.

They struck again in the top of the fifth on a two-run homerun by Ben Chamberlin to make it 4-0. Alex Fife went deep to right field on a solo shot to make it 5-0 after five and a half innings of play.

The Cowboys would score their lone run in the bottom half of the eighth inning. With the bases loaded
Emilio Medina was at the plate when the Maverick pitcher walked Medina and Cilladi walked home to make it a 6-1 game.

The #2 Mavericks would take game one by a final score of 6-1. The two teams will play two tomorrow with the first game starting at noon. Live stats and video will be available as well.
