Cowboys Fall 2-1 To Grizzles In Pitcher's Duel

Box Score ALAMOSA, Colo.- It was a beautiful March day in Alamosa as the Cowboys and Grizzles squared away in the opening game of the 2016 RMAC season. The Cowboys dropped the first game by a score of 2-1.
 
After two quick innings by both teams the Cowboys struck first in the top of the third inning. After a lead off ground out. Michael Sielinski singled past the third baseman. Before another Cowboy out Sielinski advanced to second on a wild pitch. Easton Garcia stepped into the box batting .250 with runners in scoring position when he singled up the middle to score Sielinski to give the Cowboys the early 1-0 lead.
 
It wouldn't take long for the Grizzlies to follow and get on the board. With one out Morley drew the walk on five pitches. Cody Lawson got Thurston to fly out to Jeremy McCarty for the second out. Weidner took the second pitch he saw and drove it for a single and mover Morley to second. Moldenhauer joined the party with a single to left that had enough to score Morely from second and tie the game at one all.
 
The Grizzlies continued the two out hitting. With the lead off runner at second and two outs Morley singled to left and score Nelson from second to give the Grizzles their first lead of the game after four innings, 2-1.
 
That is where the game would end as the Grizzles took the first game in the series by a score or 2-1. The teams will play two tomorrow starting at noon and the second game at 3 p.m.
