Cowboys Face Pioneers and Grizzlies After a Weekend Off

The New Mexico Highlands University Baseball team will take a quick trip to Texas to take on the Wayland Baptist University Pioneers on April 25^th at 12:00 p.m. Then, the Cowboys will come home as they take on the Adams State University Grizzlies on April 28^th at 3:00 p.m., April 29^th at 12:00 p.m., and April 30^th at 12:00 p.m. Your Cowboys hold a 13-26 overall record and a 9-19 RMAC record.
 
New Mexico Highlands University Cowboys: The Cowboys will look to snap their 5 game skid as they head into this week. Senior Jeremy McCarty will look to be a big part of their turnaround as he leads the team with 8 home runs and 46 RBIs. McCarty is also the team leader with a .373 batting average. Junior James Cordova has come on strong as of late. He is second on the team with 5 homers and 33 RBIs. Junior pitcher Dakota Pacheco continues to receive heavy work as he leads the Cowboys with 52 strikeouts.
 
Wayland Baptist University Pioneers: The Pioneers have dropped two straight games as they hold a 19-25 overall record. Ernesto Lizardi has been the most consistent batter for his team as he holds a .443 batting average. Gregg Veneklasen has been a big hit threat for his team as he leads the Pioneers with 13 home runs on the year. Kyle Eifert has been solid on the mound for his team as he boasts a 4.85 ERA.
 
Adams State University Grizzlies: The Grizzlies have been struggling lately as they are on a seven game losing streak. They hold an 11-31 overall record. Evan Weidner is the team leader in RBIs with 25 on the season. Weidner and Macro Garmendia are tied for the team lead with 2 home runs. Josh Keaton has been the workhorse on the mound for the Grizzlies as he has pitched 67 innings with a 4.97 ERA.
