Las Vegas, NM --- The New Mexico Highlands baseball team opens up conference play with a 4-game series against Colorado School of Mines that starts on Friday March 6th, at 2 pm at Brandt Field in Las Vegas, NM.
 
ABOUT COLORADO MINES: The Orediggers come in to the weekend with a non-conference 2-game series sweep (5-1, 6-1) over Colorado Christian over the weekend. As a tream, Mines is batting .285 with a slugging percentage of .524 so far while recording 136 hits, 27 homeruns and 95 RBI.
 
Caden Bonds leads the team with a .400 batting average with 22 hits, 3 homeruns, and 12 RBI while Alex Bumpus is right behind at .382 with 21 hits, 4 RBI, and 3 stolen bases.
 
On the mound, Tyler Blomster has pitched 24.2 innings and has given up 23 hits, 19 runs, with an ERA of 6.57 while Ben Schoneman has pitched in 21.2 innings and has given up 30 hits and 15 runs with an ERA of 5.82. Walter Pennington (19.2 innings pitched, 29 hits, 24 runs, 9.15 ERA) and Drew Hill (17.1 innings pitched, 9 hits, 8 runs, 4.15 ERA) are also pitchers to look out for this weekend.
