Cowboys Set to Host MSU Denver

 
Las Vegas, NM --- The New Mexico Highlands baseball team matches up with MSU Denver in a four-game series that's starts with a 9 inning affair at 3 pm on Friday March 19^th at Brandt Field in Las Vegas, NM.
 
The Cowboys come in to the weekend with a 5-7 overall record and 3-5 in RMAC play. After winning game one last weekend against UCCS, the Cowboys dropped the next three games to lose the series 1-3. The Cowboys are averaging 8.25 runs per game while hitting .328 (4^th in RMAC) with 136 hits (4^th in RMAC), 94 RBI (5^th in RMAC), and 19 homeruns (Tied 3^rd in RMAC). The Cowboys pitching staff has allowed 131 runs off 142 hits with an 11.04 ERA.
 
Gaylan Young leads the team with a .455 batting average and 19 hits with 15 homeruns, and also has a slugging percentage of .864. Kalen Hammer (.389 AVG, 7 hits, 5 RBI), Estevan De La O (.367 AVG, 18 hits, 12 RBI, 1 HR), and Joe Kuhn (.364 AVG, 12 hits, 5 RBI, 2 HR).
 
The Roadrunners enter the weekend with a 11-1 overall record and ranked 19^th nationally and currently sit in second place in the RMAC standings with a 7-1 conference record. Their lone loss of the season came last weekend against CSU Pueblo in a 1-3 loss.
 
MSU Denver's bullpen is averaging 12.1 strikeouts per nine innings and is third in the RMAC with a 4.96 ERA. Look for Cade Crader (2-0, 3.07 ERA), Jimmy Dobrash (2-0, 3.21 ERA) and Reichle Arcilise (0-1, 1.00 ERA) to lead the Roadrunners on the mound throughout the weekend. You can also expect to see Chase Anderson who bats lead-off for the Roadrunners with 20 hits, five double, and four stolen bases with a .417 batting average.
