Las Vegas, NM --- The New Mexico Highlands Cowboys will be on the road once again as they travel to Lakewood, CO to take on Colorado Christian.
The Cougars and Cowboys will play a two-day, four-game series with each day scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. The first game each day will be nine innings followed by a seven inning contest.
 
The Cowboys are coming off a 2-2 weekend where they beat MSU Billings twice (7-5, 16-15) and fell to Northwest Nazarene twice (4-18, 5-11). 
Gaylan Young will look to continue his hot seat in the batter's box as he finished the Cowboys opening weekend 10 for 15 with three doubles, four RBI and a slugging percentage of .867. 
Estevan De La O started out 1 for 6 in the first two games, however, polished off the weekend going 5 for 9 with 3 RBI and a triple. 
Fabian Ferreira ended the weekend with 4 hits off 12 at-bats and a team high 7 RBI while 
Ashton Roy wound up with 3 hits, a double and homerun, and 4 RBI.
 
Brady Salyards led the Cowboys on the mound with a 3.86 ERA though giving up two runs off four hits. Salyards also struck out seven batters while walking three. 
Jadrian Martinez (7 strikeouts) also had a strong outing for the Cowboys finishing with a 5.40 ERA while giving up four hits and two homeruns.
 
About Colorado Christian – The Cougars are led by Tommy Orr (.455) and Frankie Shearn III (.400), who lead the team in batting average. Wyatt Crenshaw (.385) sits behind them as he is tied with Orr for the lead in hits with five.
 
On the mound, the Cougars bullpen has not allowed a run this season while Devin Sutorius leads the team with seven strikeouts.
