Las Vegas, NM --- The New Mexico Highlands track & field squad travels to Canyon, TX where they will compete in the Jo Meaker Classic and Multis meet on the campus of West Texas A&M.
Annie Topal jumped a NCAA provisional qualifying mark last weekend at the Spank Blasing Invite at CSU Pueblo with a jump of 12.87 meters or 42' 2.75". The mark lands her in second place in the nation behind West Texas A&M Taylor Nelloms with a mark of 12.93 meters. Topal, the 2019 NCAA Outdoor National Champion in the triple jump, looks to steal the number one ranking this weekend.
Kaitlyn Scott sits ranked third in the RMAC with a mark of 51.37 meters, is ranked 26
th nationally in the hammer throw, and sits 12
th in the RMAC in the discus throw (35.03 meters).
There are over 600 student-athletes scheduled to compete.
