Cowboys take on CSU Pueblo at Home

 
Las Vegas, NM --- The New Mexico Highlands baseball team is set to host CSU Pueblo for a four-game series with a nine inning game slated for 3 PM on Friday afternoon.
 
The Cowboys had the week off due to COVID-19 protocol and will reschedule the four-game series with Regis later in the season. On the season, the Cowboys are batting .306 with 208 hits, 131 RBI and 24 HR while their opponents are batting .351.
 
Brandon Baier leads the team with a .357 average and has also registered 15 hits and 8 RBI while Gaylan Young isn't far behind with a .338 AVG, 25 hits, and a team-high 6 home runs and .662 slugging percentage. Estevan De La O (.318 AVG, 27 hits, 18 RBI, 2 stolen bases), Jesus Chavez (.279 AVG, 14 RBI), and Ashton Roy (.241 AVG, 14 hits, 4 homeruns) will also look to aid the Cowboys, offensively.
 
On the rubber, the Cowboys are led by Angel Castillo who holds a 6.00 ERA while giving up 15 runs off 23 hits and 7 strikeouts. Kalen Hammer (6.86 ERA, 14 strikeouts), Jadrian Martinez (7.09 ERA, 24 strikeouts), Mason Myhre (9.82 ERA, 11 strikeouts), and John Slape (10.38 ERA, 13 strikeouts) will also look to aid the Cowboys bullpen over the weekend.
 
The ThunderWolves enter the weekend sixth in the RMAC standings with a 7-13 record (9-15 overall) and are coming off a 1-3 series loss to Adams State last weekend. You can expect to see Aiden Welch (.390 AVG, 32 hits, 2 HR), Ty Lewis (.364 AVG, 28 hits, 17 RBI), and Logan Gibbons (.338 AVG, 27 hits, 3 HR) for the Pack offense and Brett Matthews (2.35 ERA, 37 strikeouts), Johnathan Ramirez (.368 ERA), and Andrew Coverly (5.29 ERA, 19 strikeouts) on the mound.
 
The Cowboys and the ThunderWolves will continue the series with a double-header scheduled to begin at 12 pm on Saturday and a nine inning game at 12 pm on Sunday.
