Las Vegas, NM --- With two weekends remaining in RMAC play, the New Mexico Highlands baseball team looks to make a run for the sixth spot in the conference tournament as the squad hosts Adams State on Friday afternoon for a double-header scheduled for 12 pm at Brandt Field.
The Cowboys enter the weekend with a 7-21 overall and 5-19 conference record with their last time hitting the diamond was against No. 1 Colorado Mesa on April 25
th.
Kalen Hammer leads the way for the Cowboys with a .333 batting average off 17 hits and 11 RBI.
Gaylan Young isn't far behind batting .330 from behind the plate with 35 hits, 24 RBI, and 7 home runs.
The Grizzlies come in to the weekend with a 7-27 overall and 6-24 conference record. The Grizzlies are led by Mike Bathauer with a .344 batting average, 43 hits, and 12 homeruns and Jace Wytulka with a .333 batting average and 32 hits.
The Cowboys and the Grizzlies will play a double-header on Friday and Saturday with a nine-inning game starting at 12 pm followed by a seven-inning game on both days.
