Box Score ALVA, Oklahoma --- The New Mexico Highlands baseball team held a 7-3 lead after the top of the fourth, but Northwestern Oklahoma State scored seven unanswered runs to beat the Cowboys 10-7 on Friday.
NMHU (0-3) used a four-run fourth inning capped by a
Joe Kuhn two-run single to make it 7-3.
However, NWOSU scored four runs in the bottom of the inning before scoring two more in the seventh and another in the eighth to pick up the win.

Nathan Vetter and
Jose Ayala each had two hits apiece to lead the Cowboys with Ayala scoring two runs and adding a stolen base.
Hunter Waugh got the start and picked up the loss, going five innings and giving up seven runs (only three earned) on eights hits with a strikeout and two walks.
The Cowboys take on Oklahoma Baptist and Washburn on Saturday to continue action in Alva.
