LAS VEGAS, N.M. --- The New Mexico Highlands women's track and field team is off to Pueblo to take part in the Spank Blasing Invite starting Friday - hosted by CSU Pueblo.
It's the second outdoor meet of the season after the Cowgirls competed at the West Texas A&M Spring Break Classic last week. NMHU took home three first-place finishes with
Kaitlyn Scott highlighting the event by taking first in the hammer with a toss of 173 feet, 5 inches (52.86 meters) - good for an NCAA qualifying mark (eighth in the NCAA).
Sophomore
Faith Lovato picked up her first collegiate win with a 12-second personal best in the 1,500 at 4:47.17 while the 4x400 team of Hilary Udechekwu,
Faith Jebet, Selisa Palmer and
Kaitlyn Holl took home first as well.

The throwing events start Friday with the javelin and hammer while the rest of the events will take place Saturday.
