Clarke Going for Second All American Spot

NMHU's Patreece Clarke will race for her second All American honor this weekend at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Pueblo, CO.
Clarke, a freshman from May Pen, Jamaica, was All American ing the indoor 60-meter hurdles and will aim for a repeat in the 100-meter outdoor hurdle distance.  Clarke comes in the national championships ranked #7 in the nation at 13.51-- the third best time in Cowgirl program history.
"What Patreece has done as a true freshman is pretty remarkable,"noted HU head coach Bob DeVries, "She was injured in Feb and really worked hard with (HU assistant) coach Russell to get back to top form. The two athletes ahead of her on our all-time list were both seniors when they ran those times."
Clarke trails Cowgirl greats Salcia Slack- a recent inductee to the  collegiate track and field Hall of Fame- and Osheen Erskine - a four-time All American during her HU career.
Clarke will compete in the 100H preliminary round Friday at 6:30pm. The NCAA nationals are being held at the CSU-Pueblo track and field facility.
