NMHU Baseball In Kansas

Las Vegas, New Mexico - The New Mexico Highlands baseball team is back on the road this weekend for a four game series at Fort Hays State on Saturday and Sunday. The teams will play a pair of doubleheaders, with first pitch set for 12:00 pm (MT) on Saturday and 11:00 am (MT) on Sunday. The first game each day will be scheduled for seven innings followed by a nine-inning nightcap.

NMHU has played its previous eight games in Oklahoma having opened the season at Edmond First Pitch Classic and then playing a four game series at Oklahoma Baptist last weekend.

Through eight games Carlos Chavez is batting .538 with 5 RBI and 24 total bases and Taiga Sato is hitting .304.

On the mound, the Cowboys staff is third in the RMAC with 57 strikeouts.

The Cowboys and Tigers have met 85 times previously on the diamond with Fort Hays holding a 59-26 edge in the series history. Up next, the Cowboys will play Panhandle State in a four game series next weekend at Hodgetown in Amarillo, Texas.
