Las Vegas, New Mexico - The NMHU Track and Field Team competed in Golden, Colorado, and Albuquerque yesterday. Head Coach
Bob DeVries reflected on yesterday's results and added some thoughts regarding the upcoming RMAC Championships.
"A good meet(s) yesterday. A number of personal bests and season bests; some NCAA marks and RMAC list improvements," began DeVries.
On the 4x100 that posted a 45.50 to earn an NCAA provisional time and record the fastest time in the RMAC this season:
"We had a slight miscue on our first exchange in the 4x1 and still raced pretty fast. We'll be trying to clean that up heading into RMAC."
On the 4x400 time of 3:45.01 which also was an NCAA provisional time and is the second fastest time in the RMAC this season:
"The 4x4 has been itching to race together against good competition -- we will need to run faster to challenge the strong Adams group at RMAC and get a spot at nationals."
Looking ahead to the RMAC Championships:
"All the season and personal bests heading to the conference championship show what an outstanding job our coaches and athletes are doing sticking with the plan. I'm very proud of our group and thankful I have great people like coaches Russell, Dunbar, Hemmings and Collins directing their training."
The 2024 RMAC Championships are at Colorado Mesa in Grand Junction this coming Thursday through Saturday.
