Box Score Grand Junction, Colorado - The Cowboys fell at nationally ranked Colorado Mesa 9-1 on a damp night at Suplizio Field.
After a brief rain delay, the Mavericks put six runs on the board in their half of the first inning and cruised to the win over NMHU.
The Cowboys scored their lone run of the night in the top of the ninth inning when
Carlos Chavez drove a one out double to left field and
Tucker Simpson singled him home on the next at bat.
With the loss, the Cowboys are now 7-36 overall and 3-22 in the RMAC.
The series continues tomorrow afternoon with a doubleheader. First pitch is set for 3:00 pm.
