Baseball Writers Vote Martinez Region Pitcher of the Week

Lubbock, Texas - The National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association (NCBWA) announced Cowboys pitcher Jadrian Martinez as the NCAA II South Central Region Pitcher of the Week on Wednesday morning.

A senior from Socorro, New Mexico, Martinez was dominant in his only outing of the week against 11th-ranked Colorado Mesa in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader in Grand Junction. The left hander delivered a complete game as the Cowboys beat the Mavericks 3-1. Martinez limited the RMAC's second highest scoring team to just one route en route to his third win of the season. He struck out three and did not allow an extra base hit to CMU.
 
Martinez is just the second pitcher from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference to by honored by the NCBWA this season.

The Cowboys close out the 2024 season with a series against Colorado Christian this weekend in Las Vegas.
