Colorado Springs, Colorado - New Mexico Highlands University sprinter
Ashley Barrett was named RMAC Outdoor Track and Field Freshman of the Year in an announcement this morning from the conference. Barrett is the first Cowgirl to earn Freshman of the Year honors since Janell Fullerton in 2017.
Barrett was named first team All-RMAC in the 100m, 200m and as part of the 4x100 relay team. She earned 24.5 points at the RMAC Championships last month en route to earning 2024 Athlete of the Meet.
Also earning first team All-RMAC today were
Patreece Clarke in the 100m hurdles,
Cemore Donald in the 400m dash,
Kaitlyn Scott in the hammer throw, and the 4x100 relay team of
Onanda Lowe,
Kacian Powell, Barrett, and Clarke.
Earning second team All-RMAC honors were
Patreece Clarke in the 100m dash,
Nadine Rose in the 400m hurdles,
Lucia Harrison in the javelin throw,
Rojrika Campbell in the long jump, and the 4x400 relay team of Rose, Barrett, Donald, and Harrison.

Beginning tomorrow, Barrett (200m dash), Clarke (100m hurdles), and the 4x100 relay team (Barrett, Clarke, Lowe, and Powell) are in Kansas to compete at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Follow all the action from Emporia State University
