Amarillo, Texas - The Cowboys ran their winning streak to five games by sweeping Friday's double header from Oklahoma Panhandle State 9-3 and 7-1. NMHU improves to 7-5 overall with the wins.
In Friday's first game the Cowboys scored nine runs on nine hits.
Carlos Chavez was two for three with three RBI. Chavez hit his fourth homer of the season in the top of the fourth inning.
Andrew Rodriguez picked up his first win of the season as we went four innings, allowed one earned run and struck out four Aggie batters.
Jimi Welsher picked up his first save of the year.
Game two saw a combination of strong pitching and solid hitting propel the Cowboys to the six run win.
Ramon Brion pitched six solid innings allowing just one run and scattering three hits.
Matthew Wilson worked a scoreless seventh inning.
The Cowboy hitters scored four runs in the third inning and added single runs in the fourth, fifth, and seventh innings.
