Las Vegas, New Mexico - The Cowboys dropped the series finale to CSU-Pueblo on Sunday afternoon 6-2. With the loss NMHU is now 10-26 overall and 2-18 in conference play.
Despite out hitting the visiting ThunderWolves 9-7, the Cowboys could not capitalize on their chances as they only scored single runs in the fourth and seventh innings.
Gael Bernal paced the Cowboys as he went three for four on Sunday. He recorded NMHU's only extra base hit when he doubled to lead off the fourth inning. Bernal later scored on a
Forrest Simpson base hit.
Simpson and
Lubby Marrujo had multi hit games for the Cowboys as well.
Andrew Rodriguez got the start and took the loss for NMHU.
Up next, the Cowboys travel to Alamosa for a four game series beginning on Thursday afternoon at 3:00 pm.
