Gael Bernal 2025 RMAC Gold Glove Winner

Colorado Springs, Colorado - Sophomore second baseman Gael Bernal is the 2025 RMAC Gold Glove winner in a announcement by the conference office Wednesday morning.

All-RMAC team selections and individual award winners are nominated and voted on by the league's nine head coaches, head coaches are not permitted to vote for themselves or their student athletes.

Bernal, a product of Americas High School in El Paso, started 47 games at second base for the Cowboys in 2025. His .956 fielding percentage was the best of any middle infielder in the conference this year. He did not commit an error in the final 26 games of the season for the Cowboys.

"Gael is a special defender who has earned this award with his spectacular defense and hard work," said NMHU Head Coach Harry Estep.

Bernal is the first Gold Glove winner for NMHU since outfielder Estevan De La O in 2021.
