LAST TIME OUT:Â
1st Half: CSU-P 28- NMHU 29
The Scoring opened up all cowgirls as they began to do most of their damage in the paint using the post work as they have throughout the second half of the season. The defense picked up in the second part of the first quarter.
Pueblo came out in the second quarter with the hot hand, shooting 4-4 coming out of the break of the first and second quarters, and then both teams began to catch fire, and this game quickly turned into a shootout.
2nd Half: CSU-P 46-56- NMHU 50-65
After a bit of standstill coming out of the half, the Cowgirls' offense was in the groove, shooting all over the field and forcing a Thunderwolves timeout. Both defenses then flipped a switch, and it was a lockdown by both squads after that.Â
Shots falling were hard to come by in the second half for both teams as the defenses showed out in the fourth, but the Cowgirls were getting points in the paint by both the post players and guards as the Cowgirls emerged victorious.
Coach Fearing had this to say following the win:Â
"What big time TEAM wins for us at home! Our home crowd is unlike anyone else in the RMAC. TheNEWHighlands is making its way. Excited to be home next weekend again, huge advantage for us!! Love this team!!!"

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION:
Â
MSU-Denver:
The Cowgirls will enter the weekend with MSU-Denver coming to two. The Roadrunners will be coming to Historic Las Vegas with a 7-11 record and a 5-5 conference record this season. MSU Dnever hired Lynn Kennedy last April. Kennedy is a veteran leader with nearly three decades of coaching experience, bringing an extraordinary track record of success, leadership, and player development at the NCAA Division I, Division II, and NAIA levels.
Regis:
The Cowgirls will end the weekend against the Regis Rangers. Entering the weekend at 0-13. The Rangers will face Adams State in Alamosa before traveling to Historic Las Vegas. Jason Kohler was named the sixth head coach in Regis University women's basketball history after an impressive three-year rise through the program's ranks. Kohler, who previously served as a graduate assistant and assistant coach for the Rangers, has played an instrumental role in one of the program's most successful stretches.
UP NEXT: The Cowgirls are on the road next week against Adams State on Tuesday, then they are at home against Fort Lewis College on Saturday, the 7th.
